Located in Historic Downtown Fredericksburg, Virginia, we have been providing quality ballet instruction in a nurturing environment since 1983.
Our professional staff promise to make dance a quality experience for students at all levels with the individual attention and guidance needed to fulfill their dance goals.
The Academy is the home of the Fredericksburg City Ballet Company.
At Academy of Ballet, we believe that ballet is a transformative journey that builds confidence, discipline, and artistry. We offer classical ballet instruction to students from beginning through advanced levels. From foundational techniques in our beginner classes to advanced training for serious dancers, our faculty is committed to meeting the unique needs of each individual.
Our programs equip students to express themselves fully both inside and outside the studio. With regular performances, our students have the opportunity to shine on stage, gaining confidence and experience. AoB students have the opportunity to perform in two full-length ballets each season, including our annual Nutcracker production.
Our youth company, The Fredericksburg City Ballet Company, offers additional study and opportunities for serious students to further their ballet training. We pride ourselves on our inclusive and supportive environment, where dancers can thrive, both technically and artistically, make lasting friendships, and grow together as a community.
